Welcome to the project SEC!

The project SEC (Sustainable Energy Citizenship) was implemented from 1 September 2007 to 31 May 2010. It aimed at improving the coherence of projects and activities, and developing a vision shared by a broad range of actors for a long-ranging process towards sustainable energy supply in four European regions.
For this purpose, potential- and SWOT-analyses were carried out in three target regions in Germany, France and Austria, road-maps were developed and formalised energy citizenships were set up. Comprehensive information activities, including key and market actors as well as the general public in the target areas and beyond, notably in Poland, were implemented.
This was done to give existing ideas, projects and activities a higher chance for implementation and success, a stronger impetus and dynamics and to ensure the continuity of the processes in the medium and long term.
Thus, new links were created between European regions and market actors for rational use of energy and renewable energy use in Europe. Specific attention was paid to widespread dissemination, in particular to the new EU member states.
